ABOUT
I take the product seat for ninety days, then hire the person who keeps it.
I have spent fourteen years in product, the last six as the person founders call when a company has outgrown its first roadmap but cannot yet afford, or find, a permanent product leader.
Before going independent I was Head of Product at Tessel, a payroll platform that went from 20 to 160 people while I was there, and before that I led the growth team at Fernway, a travel marketplace. I started as an engineer, which is why I still read pull requests and still like spreadsheets more than slides.
PRINCIPLES
How I work
One plan, on one page
If the roadmap does not fit on a page, it is a wish list. We cut until it fits.
Ship in week two
Something real goes to customers in the first fortnight. Momentum is a deliverable.
Decisions in writing
Every call I make is written down with the reason, so the team can disagree with it later.
Hire my replacement
Every engagement ends with a hiring plan, and usually a hire. I am not the long-term answer.
